The old DVR doesn't have the encryption feature in it.
The issues came about due to a recent upgrade in the iVMS-4500 application.
There is no easy way for users to roll back to earlier version of the iVMS-4500.

Here's the couple of Fix.

1. For iPhone/iPad users, go to App Store and search for iVMS-4520
Download and install iVMS-4520.

2. For Android users, the iVMS-4520 application is not available in the playstore.
We'll try to locate a old version of the iVMS-4500 Mobile App for Android devices.
Until then, there's no fix for this issues.

3. For the iVMS-4200 PC Software, currently there's no issues using the software to view.
It'll just pop up a brief alert saying that the stream is encrypted. Other than that, there's no issues viewing.

Currently, the models that are affected had all been installed/manufactured prior to 2014 and are already discontinued by the manufacturer. Support and updates are limited.
You may also wish to upgrade the DVR to newer model that is compatible with the existing cameras and at the same time supporting newer HD (High Definition) Cameras.
