Using SADP to Locate your HIKVISION Equipment on LAN
Last Updated 3 years ago

You'll need to know your network detaiils before you are able to configure your internet router to allow remote access to your system.

Using SADP discovery tool provided by the HIKVISION, you'll be able to detect HIKVISION equipment that's plug into the same LAN (Local Area Network) as the computer you are running it from.

If you do not have SADP installed, here's where you can download it.
SADP
Search Active Devices Protocol software is user-friendly and installation-free online
device search tool. It searches the active online devices within your subnet and
displays the information of the devices. You can also modify the basic network
information of the devices using this software.

1. Run the SADP Software. If there's any firewall warning on your computer, do allow the software to access the network. Otherwise it won't be able to detect the HIKVISION equipment present in the local area network.

2. It'll show which HIKVISION devices are present in the network.

3. You can use the settings displayed by SADP to configure your internet router.
e.g. in this case.
DVR IP : 192.168.1.64
HTTP Port : 88
Video Port : 8000
Gateway : 192.168.1.254

The first 3 group of the IP address must be the same as your internet router, i.e. in this case, 192.168.1.XX
The gateway must be the IP of your internet router,
i.e. in this case, 192.168.1.254.

If they are not, you can either change the DVR/NVR/IP Cameras to match your internet router, or change the router's setting to match these IP.

You'll then need to configure the Port Forwarding Settings on your internet router to forward the ports the equipment it's using to the IP it's using.
i.e. in this case, Forward both ports 88 and 8000 to the IP 192.168.1.64
You can refer to our port forwarding guides on how to do it.

As there are lots of brands and models of networking equipment in the market, and also lots of possible network settings depending on the IP range and ports users are using, it's not possible to have guides for everything. Do adapt the guide for your own network.

You can search on google on more port fowarding guides.
