Non Warranty Issues/Problems/Mistakes to look out for
Last Updated 11 months ago
Here are some of the issues/problems/mistakes that we had encountered before that are not covered under warranty.
Solar Panel not in/facing the sun after relocation. Issues The solar panel required sunlight to operate. Putting it in the shade (under trees/bridge/building shadows) or installing it upside down doesn't allow sunlight to reach it in order to charge the battery. Solution Shift it out of the shade and into the sunlight. You can also try tilting it towards the sunlight away from the shade as well.Cable accidentally unplugged Issues Power/Signal cable is accidentally unplugged.Solution Reconnect the cable back to ensure power/signal is restore to the equipmentFuse Blown Issues Power supply fuse blown. Most likely cause by recabling/reconnection without switching off the power supply.Solution Replace the fuse. There's a spare fuse included in each system. Otherwise you can also purchase standard blade fuse (2/3A) for replacement. Camera Junction Box install upside down Issues The camera junction box is installed upside down after customer relocated the camera. The cabling hole is installed skyward instead of downwards. This enable rains to get into the junction box leading to short circuit of the fuse or damaging the components.Solution Turn it the correct side up and install it. You may also need to open up the junction box and dry all components inside. The fuse for this camera might be blown as well. You'll need to replace it. If drying the inside of the junction box and replacing the fuse doesn't work, other components might also be damaged by the water and will need to be replaced/repaired.Equipment dislodged/not mounted properly Issues Do watch out for equipment that had been dislodged from their mountings. Most of the weatherproof equipment is only weatherproof if they are installed the correct side up. If they had been dislodged or installed upside down, they will not be weatherproof and water will get into the system damaging them. The WAP shown here had it's mounting cable tie damaged and fell off the mounting pole and is hanging off the cabling, causing the cabling hole to face skywards. Water had enter the circuit board and cause irreparable damage which is not covered by warranty.Solution If equipment are observed to had fallen off their mounting position, do take immediate action to reinstall them back up. If the equipment are reinstall back before water enter the system, most likely they will function as normal. If unsure, do take photo and send us so that we can advise of the steps to rectify the problem.
