2. Downloading long recording period, e.g. weeks/months, etc recording ?
- Footage are around 500GB per month per camera, (ard 20GB/Day per Camera).
Can, but not feasible to download through remotely as it'll use around 1TB of data to download per month of footage for 2 cameras.
- To backup 1TB of data, you will need at least 1TB of backup storage.
- You'll either need
a. a laptop plug in vie network cable to the enclosure to download the footage. Takes at least 2 days to download 1TB of data. Laptop must have at least 1TB of available storage to backup 1TB of data.
b. using a monitor plug in to the DVR to navigate the menu and start the backup to a USB harddisk. Takes at least 1 day to download 1TB of data. USB harddisk must also have at least 1TB of available storage to backup 1TB of data.

Note that time taken to download the data are estimated as the DVR will still be operating, recording video to the storage, slowing down the data backup process.

If you are looking at just archiving the data, a practical solution will be either
1. Swap the Harddisks from the DVR at side. (Most practical solution for constant archival)
- Have another compatible DVR with monitor at site office/office to plug the Harddisk in for playback/backup to playable format.
- Danger of doing so is that harddisk are fragile. Improper handing will cause the harddisk to be damaged and all recording gone.
- The DVR at the site office will also need to be compatible. There are multiple systems installed over different time, will need to check if 1 DVR is compatible with all those systems.
- After swapping, need to ensure that the harddisk had been installed properly and is recording.

2. Swap the whole DVR.
- However, depending on the period of archival required, it may not be practical to have more than 1 recorder per system to swap.
