Switching to 4G/5G Router Network for CCTV Server
Last Updated about a month ago

Almost all 4G/5G Sim Card doesn't provide a direct IP.
As such, you'll need to switch to using the manufacture's  HIK-CONNECT/P2P platform to connect to your CCTV instead of using the Direct IP method.

Not all system support the HIK-CONNECT/P2P platform. Do check with us if your system support before switching.
If it doesn't, then you'll need to consider replacing your equipment.

Note that there are both pros/cons to using HIK-CONNECT Platform to access the system.
Pro
1. No Configuration required on Internet Router
2. Can remotely view live/recorded without having to setup internet router.
3. Works even when there's no public ip available.

Cons
1. Limited sets of functionality. Not all functions can be access.
2. All traffics may be routed manufacturer's server. As it's not a direct access, speed may be slower
3. Limited troubleshooting ability. We can't tell why your system is not working if you can't view as server's hosted by manufacturer.
4. Limited to 5 mins viewing per session. After timeout, you'll need to click to reconnect
5. Limited Backup/downloading of recording footage capability. e.g. HIKVISION Remote Backup software doesn't work vie HIK-CONNECT connection.
6. No Browser access. Can only vie vie manufacturer's app/software.

If your system support HIK-CONNECT/P2P platform and is currently accessible on the internet, we can make the necessary configuration changes remotely to switch it to HIK-CONNECT.

Note that you'll need to manually switch the LAN cable from your old Internet Router to the new 4/5G Router's LAN port once the new router is in.

If you have already switched to the Mobile (4G/5G Sim Card) Internet, we might not be able to do it online and an onsite services will be required.
