Discontinuation of HiDDNS Service

Hikvision plans to discontinue the HiDDNS service from February 15, 2022.
The HiDDNS services was no longer available on HIKVISION Systems installed after 2017/18, more than 4 years back.

If your system had been installed there after, you will not be affected.
If your CCTV URL is not in the following format http://www.hik-online.com/ or your Settings is not using HiDDNS, you are not affected.

For customer affected, you'll need to switch to using other type of DDNS Services if your internet subscription is not on static IP.

To switch to other DDNS Services.
1. Login to your CCTV's URL. 
Example http://111.222.111.222

(You can also use the iVMS-4200 PC Software to configure)

2. Select Configuration->Network Settings->DDNS to see the DDNS Settings.
Your DDNS Type should be HiDDNS.
If it is NOT, then you are not using HiDDNS. You are not affected by the discontinue of the HiDDNS Services.

We'll just use DynDNS and No-IP as the example.
4a. Using DynDNS
Visit https://account.dyn.com/ to create a DynDns account.
Create a hostname after you have setup the DynDns account.

They have free trial for limited period, thereafter, there'll be subscription charges.

After creating the DynDns Account, you should have
- Your DynDns username, e.g. dyndnsuser
- Your DynDns password
- A hostname you created in Dyndns, e.g. domainaname.dyndns.org
Replace the HiDDNS settings with the DynDns settings.
The Server Address for Dyndns is members.dyndns.org

Click save. Your new domain name will be

4b. Using No-IP
Visit https://www.noip.com/ to signup for a No-IP account.
Create a hostname after you have setup the No-IP account.

They have free limited account that required user to response to a link every month to keep the account active.

After creating the No-IP Account, you should have
- Your No-IP username, e.g. noipuser
- Your No-IP password
- A hostname you created in No-IP , e.g. domainaname.no-ip.com

Replace the HiDDNS settings with the No-IP settings.
The Server Address for No-IP is dynupdate.no-ip.com

5. After changing from HiDDNS to other DDNS services, here's how to update your settings in HIK-CONNECT. 
(Note that HiDDNS option is not available in HIK-CONNECT)
a. Select the system, and click on the Settings Button.

b. Update the Address to the new Domain name you had registered.
